Opposing the criminalization of homelessness would explore how laws and policies impact people experiencing housing insecurity and examine evidence‑based alternatives that promote safety, dignity, and community well‑being. Engage with research, case studies, and lived‑experience perspectives to understand effective, humane responses to homelessness.

Objectives:

Explain the social, legal, and economic factors that contribute to the criminalization of homelessness.
Evaluate alternative policy approaches—such as housing‑first models and community services—that reduce harm and improve outcomes.
Develop informed recommendations for community engagement and advocacy based on research and best practices.
