The Details

MCAH is thrilled to partner with Endurance for Change for the Run Across Michigan – a powerful journey of hope, determination, and perseverance. Running from Lake St. Clair to Lake Michigan, co-founder Brendan LaFrenier and his team are pushing their limits to raise $100,000 to help end homelessness across Michigan.

Every mile they run fuels real change. Proceeds from this incredible effort will directly support ten homeless shelters in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Grand Rapids – helping them provide safety, support and stability for people in need.

Just like homelessness can’t be battled alone, running 200 miles across the state also requires a community effort. Your gift powers every step of the journey. Join us in turning endurance into impact – give today and help move Michigan closer to a future without homelessness.

The Swag

Endurance for Change has created donation tiers as a way to say thank you – not as a requirement. For those who want a physical reminder of the campaign, limited donor gifts are available at selected levels. Donors may opt out so your full gift supports impact. All merchandise will be fulfilled after the run.   Wristbands will be handed out to the shelters, provided to those who join me and pace, and shipped with other items.

The Actual Run

The journey will officially begin on Monday, March 2nd. The plan is to complete the run over the course of three to four days, depending on weather conditions, pacing, and overall progress along the route. As co-founder Brendan LaFrenier runs across the state, he will stop (with his crew) at each of the 10 partnered shelters to engage in a meaningful program that fosters community engagement.

Meet The Team From Endurance For Change

Brendan LaFrenier,  The Runner

“Growing up, I would get really emotional seeing people experience homelessness in big cities. Those moments made me realize that not everyone was blessed with the life I had. I am running 200+ miles across the state of Michigan in March because I want to use my willpower to give back and make a real difference in the community. Our goal is to raise $100,000 and show that homelessness is not an individual problem, but rather a community problem that we can all work toward. A film team from the University of Michigan, led by Nick DelFranco, will produce a documentary to amplify this message. “

Nick DelFranco,  The Filmaker

Co-founder and film director Nick DelFranco: I am a senior at the University of Michigan double majoring in Film and Philosophy who is directing a feature length documentary covering the Endurance for Change project. The documentary will cover Brendan’s full training and run, as well as share stories from each shelter about the fight against homelessness. We hope to shine a light on how endurance can be a catalyst for change.  I’ve previously worked as Director, Director of Photography, and Editor for numerous different award-winning short films. I’m honored to have the opportunity to direct such an impactful and ambitious film.
