Our Advocacy Work

The Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness (MCAH) believes that effective policy is crucial to creating long-lasting positive change in our community. That’s why MCAH advocates for state and federal policies that increase access to affordable housing and reduce barriers.

MCAH works directly with local officials and state and federal legislators in Lansing and Washington, D.C., to advocate for policies that have the greatest impact on individuals, children and families in Michigan.

MCAH collaborates with our network of thousands of dedicated advocates.  We do not do this work alone.

Advocate with MCAH and change your community for the better.  Click the “Join The Fight” button below to see how YOU can join the fight to end homelessness by attending our Legislative Action Committee Meetings, subscribe to our newsletters, or attend our Annual Advocacy Day.

2025 Advocacy Priorities

MCAH’s policy priorities were developed with community, MCAH member, stakeholder and MCAH Board input and are in alignment with the Federal Strategic Plan to End Homelessness and the MI Campaign to End Homelessness’ 2023-2025 Action Plan.
