Meet Ashley Heidenrich

Project Coordinator

Ashley has worked as a public policy intern at MCAH for the past year and we are thrilled she has moved into a full-time role as our Project Coordinator and will  continue working with our incredible team.

As an intern, she supported MCAH’s state legislative advocacy work and organized voter engagement events at shelters and community resource fairs across the state.

In the Project Coordinator role, she will be launching our new partnership with NLIHC’s Opportunity Starts at Home Initiative, with a goal of creating partnerships outside the housing sector to amplify our federal and state advocacy. She looks forward to facilitating connections between housing providers, health services, tenant groups, and criminal justice organizations in Michigan.

She will also continue to expand MCAH’s voter registration and education work. On behalf of MCAH, she will be hosting a series of registration and education events across Michigan for unhoused and low-income voters ahead of the November elections!

Ashley completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Urban Studies at the University of Michigan this past May. Ashley discovered her passion for the homelessness and affordable housing field after studying the history of racial segregation in housing and working as an AmeriCorps member with Community Partners for Affordable housing in northern Chicago.

She hopes to spend her career fighting for the right to housing for all, racial equity, and tenant protections and power.
