Description of the Webinar

Attendees will learn about some of the barriers to employment faced by people with criminal justice involvement. Then, the presenters will share an overview of the efforts by Michigan Department of Corrections to develop job and career opportunities, and resources available to those on MDOC supervision (probation or parole).

Course Outcomes

Attendees will know about resources available to those on MDOC probation or parole and how to help clients access those resources.

Speaker Bios 

Mariam DeLand is the Manager of Reentry Services at MDOC. Reentry Services provides services to people leaving MDOC facilities and reentering society. Kyle Tejchma is the Manager of the Employment Opportunities Unit (EOU) at MDOC. EOU works with employers to develop career paths and opportunities for people under MDOC supervision.
