Speaker Bio
Ryan Hannon has worked in the human services field for over 18 years, and specifically with people experiencing homelessness on the streets for over 15years. He is Goodwill Northern Michigan’s Housing and Homeless Services Community Engagement Officer and serves as technical advisor for Safe Harbor of Grand Traverse emergency homeless shelter. Ryan is on the advisory board for Traverse House Clubhouse and is chair of the Northwest Michigan Coalition to End Homelessness Outreach & Identification workgroup. He received the:
• 2021 Sara Hardy Humanitarian Award from the City of Traverse City Human Rights Commission,
• 2018 Robert P Griffin Award for court advocacy from the 86th District Court,
• 2014 Dean Robb Unsung Hero for Social Justice award from the ACLU of Northwest Michigan.
The emphasis of his work is on ending homelessness in the Grand Traverse Region and Street Outreach best practices. Ryan and his wife Grace live in Traverse City and have six children. In his spare time he enjoys driving his kids to and fro, family time, and reading biographies. ryanh@goodwillnmi.org
