


Landlord Tenant Rights and Responsibilities

General Info
In Michigan the law sets forth rights and duties of landlords and tenants. We will discuss entering into a lease agreement, duty to pay monthly rent, duty to keep the property habitable and in good repair, eviction proceedings, and the security deposit process.

Speaker Bio
Kellie Maki Foster is the Detroit Eviction Prevention Director at Lakeshore Legal Aid. Kellie has been a housing attorney for 15 years serving several communities in Metro Detroit and the region surrounding Lansing. She manages a staff of 50+ attorneys, law students, and legal assistants who are dedicated to representing Detroit residents in housing cases. Kellie serves on statewide workgroups that impact housing and the MCAH board of directors.
