Why Candidate Engagment?
Building strong relationships with elected officials begins now, while they are candidates. Each election year, MCAH submits questionnaires for Congressional and state candidates to respond with their knowledge, opinion, and positions on housing, and preventing and ending homelessness in Michigan. Responses are shared with our members and collaborative partners ahead of the election to help inform candidate’s priorities and stance on these issues.
Gathering candidate views and input also gives MCAH the information needed to work with candidates after the election and to educate newly elected officials on MCAH priorities for smart, evidence-based solutions.
Candidate surveys will be going out in June 2022. Check back to see how your candidate responded and reach out to educate them about homelessness in their district.
