Project Homeless Connect (PHC) is designed as a 'one-stop, one-day' community oriented event for individuals who are at risk of becoming homeless or are already homeless. These events are collaborations of a local Continuum of Care body and endeavor to bring together community resources that can support individuals and families in times of economic hardship. These range from typical social service providers to free goods and services.
As a part of Michigan's Campaign to End Homelessness, the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness has awarded over 150 PHC grants (underwritten by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority) to support communities across the state interested in hosting a local PHC event. To date, PHC grants have assisted over 42,600 recorded guests. In addition to connecting individuals and families to needed services and supports, it serves as an opportunity to raise awareness, issue an advocacy statement, and strengthen the local Continuum of Care.
