The Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness (MCAH) is a nonprofit membership organization formed as an association of emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, nonprofit housing and service programs, government programs and concerned citizens from across the State.
Our goal is to be the leading advocate for homeless people in Michigan and the agencies that serve them. Towards that end, we present this site as a hub of information. Please explore and take advantage of the information within.
Mission
The mission of the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness (MCAH) is to decrease the incidence of homelessness, improve the quality of services provided to people who are homeless, effect systematic change at the root causes of homelessness, and increase communication among Michigan's homeless service providers.
The Coalition will accomplish its mission through education, advocacy, collaboration, newsletters, technical assistance, and resource development.
Vision
The Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness (MCAH) serves as the leading advocate for homeless people in Michigan and the agencies that serve them.
The MCAH provides programs and services based on an understanding of homelessness driven by extensive and varied experience in the field and on-going primary and secondary research and analysis.
Homeless Service Providers will benefit directly from educational and networking services that will improve their client services, operations, outreach and resource development. They will also benefit indirectly from MCAH's advocacy services targeted at State and local governments, the media, funders, and the general public.
